Women Behind the Wheel

Women Behind The Wheel LogoBoating has long been one of the most popular summer activities for families; unfortunately, it has also been common for family members to play particular roles on the water.  It is not unusual for the children to spend their time on the water doing watersports while their father drives, docks, and trailers the boat, and the mother enjoys her time sunbathing in the bow.

Women Behind the Wheel is a program that attempts to alter this picture to afford women a more active role in the boating lifestyle by offering lessons in captaining, trailering, and towing, in combination with the chance for women to get their boating licenceWomen Behind the Wheel is designed by a woman and is taught completely by women.  The course provides women with a comfortable, patient and understanding environment in which to learn how to handle their boat and start taking boating fun into their own hands!

The ability to maneuver a boat in and out of the water makes boating more safe and more fun.  The more people on-board that know how to drive and dock a boat, the safer emergency situations become.  Furthermore, once initial boating skills are possessed, boating becomes a favourite pastime.  Women's experiences on the water do not need to be limited to the preferences of their male companions or their children.  Women Behind the Wheel gives women the confidence to explore and find out what they love to do on the water.

We invite you to join us for one of our courses and look forward to seeing you on the lake.  For information on the courses we offer along with some background on women helping women, please explore the links below.
