The Wake Institute is centre for higher learning and research into wakebarding and wakeskating. At the Wake Institute, they pride themselves on their highly qualified background in water-sports and top of the line facilities. They thrive in the progression of our students and specialize in having fun!
The Wake Institute is a freestyle learning facility that will help you get to where you want to be, and further. They have an exciting approach to watersports that will help you build on your strengths and develop your own unique athletic style, and we're sure you wont mind the homework.
A young, innovative school, the Wake Institute was founded in 2009 by Ontario's top coaches: Waterski-Wakeboard Ontario's VP of wakeboarding Jay Poole, 2009 Wakestock Champion Jeremy Eckford, 2009 National Champion Ally Boothroyd, 2009 Wakestock Champion Erika Langman. All of these coaches have been involved in the watersports community with coaching, judging tournaments, competing in tournaments, organizing and running events, and teaching boating and instructors courses for many years, and have all developed a great relationship with Buckeye Marine along the way.
The wake institute uses only the best equipment in the industry, from top of the line Liquid Force boards to Mastercraft 40th anniversary X Star, the official tow boat of the Pro Tour, and the most popular wake boat on wakeworld seven years running. Because of their partnership with Buckeye Marine, the Wake Institute is a Mastercraft test centre. We host the Buckeye Team Demo boat at our Bobcaygeon campus. The team boat is the X-Stars little brother the X2 all the fun of the X Star in a more compact, versatile package. It skis well, wakeboards exceptionally, and is the perfect family boat. The X2 is the most popular boat at Buckeye so come down to the Bobcaygeon campus and check it out, or come see the team boat as it travels to Buckeye demo events across the Kawarthas. Check out our Buckeye Team Page for Applications to become a part of the team!
At the Bobcaygeon campus they have a private bay filled with the perfect sliders for wakeboarding and wakeskating, and we are constantly adding to the fun with more and more safe obstacles for riders of all abilities. They have everything from first time rails, to a serious A frame. The rails are designed to satisfy bothe strappers and skaters. Couple that with their Yamaha waverunner and you have a fun day on the water.
Inclusive and innovative with a focus on the individual student, the Wake Institute program is tailored to suite each students goals. Both the Ennismore and Bobcaygeon campuses are known for their supportive community environment and emphasis on creating a fun learning atmosphere. A Wake Insititute education provides students with a solid foundation in the wakesports of their choice as well as a support network to help achieve their desired level of personal success and involvement in the wakesport scene.
